The Weather Inside Your Head

Mental health, in plain language, without the pharmacy aisle.

We treat the mind as if it were a machine that breaks. It isn't. It is a sky, and skies have weather.

Some mornings the sky is clear. Some mornings there is fog and you cannot see two feet in front of you. It is not a personal failing to have weather. It is a personal skill to know what to do in each kind of weather.

If it is raining, wear a coat. If it is dark, turn on a light. If it has been dark for many days, tell someone. This is not weakness. This is meteorology.
